How does Chromium Cr Powder get made? To produce chromium, the process of calcination is used to convert the chromium dioxide into sodium trioxide. The sodium chromate solution is then leached into diluted solution of sodium chromate and is manufactured by electrolysis. Electrolysis Method: The cathode solution contains 40g/L (Cr), 90g/L, (NH4) and the anodic solution contains 22g/L, (Cr), (NH4) and 200g/ LH2S04.
